Meet Maria, the Creator Behind The Game Room

Hi! I’m Maria Morais, the founder and game designer behind The Game Room.

I create printable games, interactive PowerPoint games, and escape room kits for families, parties, classrooms, churches, offices, and special events.

My goal is simple: to help you spend less time preparing and more time laughing, connecting, and creating unforgettable memories together.

From a Physical Escape Room to The Game Room

My journey as a professional game creator began in 2017 in Cuenca, Ecuador. When I realized the city did not have an escape room, I decided to create one myself.

What started as a single escape room grew into nine original experiences designed to inspire teamwork, problem-solving, and connection. More than 15,000 people played these physical escape room adventures, and the business was featured in local newspapers, on television, and across other media.

When the pandemic temporarily closed entertainment venues, I began transforming my experience into games that people could download and enjoy at home.

That was the beginning of The Game Room.

Since bringing The Game Room online, more than 90,000 downloadable games have been sold through my website, Etsy, and Teachers Pay Teachers.

What began with printable escape rooms has grown into a diverse collection of ready-to-play activities, including:
