Hello! I’m Maria Morais, the founder and game designer behind The Game Room.

I create printable games, interactive PowerPoint games, and escape room kits for families, parties, classrooms, churches, offices, and special events. My goal is simple: to help people spend less time preparing and more time laughing, connecting, and creating memorable experiences together.

From a Physical Escape Room to an International Online 

My journey as a professional game creator began in 2017 in Cuenca, Ecuador. After realizing that the city did not have an escape room, I decided to create one myself.

What started as a single escape room grew into nine original experiences designed to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and connection. More than 15,000 players participated in these physical escape room adventures, and the business was featured by local newspapers, television, and other media.

When the pandemic temporarily closed physical entertainment venues, I began transforming my experience into games people could download and enjoy at home.

That change marked the beginning of The Game Room.

Over the past six years, more than 90,000 of my downloadable games have been sold through The Game Room, Etsy, and Teachers Pay Teachers.
